Newport to A Tea
An annual tea held at Salve Regina’s Ochre Court Mansion. 22 tables are hosted, decorated and set by community members. A silent auction, champagne reception and high tea make this a lovely event for a great cause.

Mother’s Day 5K Run and Walk
The Newport Public Education Foundation sponsors the Mother’s Day 5K Run For Education and Family Fun Run/Walk along Ocean Drive. The Run engages the entire community and attracts more than 500 participants. All proceeds benefit the Foundation’s Excellence Grants.
Sponsored by local businesses, friends and organizations, the Run offers a wonderful opportunity to show support for our public schools. Running and walking mothers receive flowers and chocolates.

Annual Showcase of Good News in Newport Schools
Newport Public Education Foundation hosts an annual Showcase of “Good News in Newport Schools.” In 2007, Mrs. Noreen Drexel was honored with a Friend of Education Award at this celebration of the positive things happening in Newport Public Schools. The Showcase includes: NPEF Teachers Excellence Grants, student art displays, live student music, theater performances, science projects, and Good News from each school. Other enrichment programs operating in the Newport Public Schools are invited to participate. Admission to the event is free and the public is invited to attend. The Rotary Club provides food for this family friendly event.
